Progress, not perfection
First Class Honours (with Distinction)
My first professional experience in Australia occurred while I was studying full-time. Time management was essential for successfully navigating my first year at Focus HQ. I worked as part of a team of five experienced software engineers from four different countries, tackling a wide range of tasks, including the development of new features, cloud management using AWS, migrating from AngularJS to ReactJS, upgrading from Python 2 to Python 3, enhancing security, optimizing response times, automating manual tasks, solving bugs and more. This experience allowed me to solidify the knowledge I had gained in both academia and the industry.
My biggest professional challenge took me out of my comfort zone after working for years in consulting. I migrated to Australia to pursue my Master's studies and joined WeHi, the oldest medical research institute in the country, which has over 1,400 staff members, 90 laboratories, and over 470 active patents. There, I collaborated with software engineering researchers, bioinformatics experts, and biologists to build an automated benchmarking tool designed to measure the computational resources required for analyzing scientific experiment data.
This was my first experience working in an international team of Software Engineers, all of whom have a Computer Science background and over 10 years of industry experience. I felt like a child, eagerly absorbing knowledge from everyone by asking constant questions and striving to complete every task assigned to me. I worked with a public USA company (NASDAQ: SOFI) within the banking industry, which has a market capitalization of over $13 billion USD and more than 2,000 employees.
It was time to make some changes in my life! After working with countless technologies, I decided to choose a clear path that brought me the passion and fulfillment that many writers and mentors discussed. I pushed myself to leverage all my telecommunications experience and apply it to this new direction. It felt like a refreshing new start, and I enjoyed it so much. This phase got me up and running for my Masters Studies. I began developing software with great passion, a cup of coffee, and lo-fi music.
I always seek to improve
